MANILA, Philippines — Neri Naig will be discharged from the hospital “not later than Wednesday (December 4),” the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) said.
The actress-turned-mom-entrepreneur was subjected to a medical evaluation following her arrest for syndicated estafa and violation of securities law on November 23.
Article continues after this advertisementCiting a court order, BJMP spokesperson Jail Supt. Jayrex Bustinera said Naig’s medical evaluation should not exceed five days. The businesswoman was brought to the hospital on November 29.

“We expect [no] later than Wednesday, December 4. We are also coordinating with the hospital and the court for her return to jail,” Bustinera told INQUIRER.net in a Viber message on Monday.

Syndicated estafa is a non-bailable offense, which means that unless the court sees merit for her provisional liberty, Naig may spend Christmas and New Year in prison.
